“BEST REBUILT SUPERYACHT AWARD” NOMINEE

On 21 May 2022, in London, at the 17th annual edition of the BOAT International World Superyacht Awards , The Kalizma was announced the winner of a “ Judges’ Special Award” and was nominated for the “Best Rebuilt Superyacht Award”.

The World Superyacht Awards recognise the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the most remarkable luxury yachts from across the world. The globally acclaimed awards, are known for their credibility and prestige thanks to a judging panel of twenty current superyacht owners and two expert advisors.

To be recipient of a World Superyacht Award, also know as a “Neptune Award” is considered by superyacht owners as the equivalent to the Honorary Awards for lifetime achievement at the Oscars.

Our appreciation and gratitude goes to BOAT International and the judges for their time and for recognising that The Kalizma is truly something special.

I think there is a responsibility that comes with owning something like this and that responsibility is to really keep the soul the same. "Chartering in the Maldives, this lovely classic vessel oozes romance and has recently had a complete overhaul in Colombo. See some new photos supplied. Back in 1967, Richard Burton bought her for Elizabeth Taylor during one of their marriages, and she was tied up in the Thames for a while, with national newspaper coverage from among others, a younger me. Kalizma is named after Burton’s children Kate, Liza and Maria.." Yacht Style Magazine, issue 62.

"A lovely classic motor yacht built in 1906, Kalizma recently had a complete overhaul in Sri Lanka and is presently available for charter in the Maldives. She is well-known in Southeast Asia waters too, particularly in Phuket. Back in 1967, Richard Burton bought her for Elizabeth Taylor during one of their marriages, and she was tied up in the Thames. The vessel is named after Burton’s children Kate, Liza and Maria." Yacht Style Magazine, issue 56.
